Planning for my Music Video

 


The song that i chose for this video is Happy by Pharrell. The props that ill be using are a party hat this is to emphasize the theme of happiness and celebration. Ill also be using a chair for one of my actors to stand on. Another prop id use are balloons because people usually use balloons when they are celebrating something. Id have a cardboard box that would turn into a cake this would be the main part of the story line to be grateful so id make the cardboard box the cake. I would need a lighter but I wouldn't actually light it id just have it for the effect along with candles. I need a type of cloth to make a blindfold for the scene where the birthday person comes in and is surprised to find a cardboard box on the table. I would want record most of the video inside at a table mainly because that's where people sing happy birthday. I may do part of the video outside like maybe dancing and throwing up balloons. Id have my family members be the actors. If it is raining outside then ill conduct everything indoors. Ill put a sheet on the wall for color, like a background drop. I may need to put a a few banners and decorate the table where the most part of the video will take place. If one of my actors aren't able to make it ill have several recording and retake dates just in case. In the case that someone cant make it at all ill take over their part and put my phone on a tripod.

  We plan to film our short film at different locations around the school. The first place we plan to film is on the track. This is where the establishing shot will be and the entire first scene will happen. The next scene will take place in the bully's room, this where the transition to the bully's dream takes place. The bully's dream will occur in the outside hallway of building 5. The final scene will happen in the bus loop. We will begin filming after winter break, January 3, 2022. The day back is an A day so we will try to film during al of our study halls. When filming isn't in process everyone will have on their masks for safety. Genre Research - Final Choice

    Out of all three of the genres chosen, we decided to finally go with Drama. The reason for this choice is that a drama is simply more flexible than the others. There are so many aspects to a film that can make it be considered as a drama. On the other hand, Horror and Comedy have a big more restraint. When making a horror film, there has to be some element that “scares” the audience. Whether it is actually scary or not isn’t the point, but whether it creates a chilling atmosphere. It just didn’t really seem to fit into the prompt of our short film. We don’t want the audience to be too distracted by “not getting scared” to the point where they miss the message we are trying to send. Comedy was a little more close than horror, but again, it didn’t seem to match our story. The main purpose of comedic films is to have the audience laughing.   We chose three different genres that we believed our pitch could fit into. The first genre we chose is comedy. Our pitch could fit into the comedy genre because of some events that could occur. For example, while the bully is learning from his mistake someone could make a joke. It could also fit in this genre because of its elements and Mis-En-Scene. Such as, the casual costumes and classroom settings of many comedy films. The second genre we chose for our pitch is horror. This pitch could fit into this genre because of the acts of violence within the scenes. Another reason it could fit is because of some common sounds found in horror. For example, screaming; this could be used in our pitch during a scene where the bully is bullying someone. The last genre we chose for our pitch is drama.
