Title Research: Art of the Title Website


I went on a hunt for websites that would fit the requirements. I came across this website and others that seemed real and had everything I needed. I then decided to go with this website after careful analyzation of the other websites. This site compared nicely with sites I've used in previous filming assignments. As I clicked onto the website this one had the more efficient content based on my needs. I began scrolling through the website and found that it had a variety of movie titles. I learned about many different title sequences while exploring this site. Those of which correlated to my chosen pitch. I began to understand how title sequences work. This website helped me to look at them in a different light, from the viewer's view point rather then the filmmakers. The different titles on this website were very wide and they had many.

Planning for Short Film

  We plan to film our short film at different locations around the school. The first place we plan to film is on the track. This is where the establishing shot will be and the entire first scene will happen. The next scene will take place in the bully's room, this where the transition to the bully's dream takes place. The bully's dream will occur in the outside hallway of building 5. The final scene will happen in the bus loop. We will begin filming after winter break, January 3, 2022. The day back is an A day so we will try to film during al of our study halls. When filming isn't in process everyone will have on their masks for safety. Genre Research - Final Choice

    Out of all three of the genres chosen, we decided to finally go with Drama. The reason for this choice is that a drama is simply more flexible than the others. There are so many aspects to a film that can make it be considered as a drama. On the other hand, Horror and Comedy have a big more restraint. When making a horror film, there has to be some element that “scares” the audience. Whether it is actually scary or not isn’t the point, but whether it creates a chilling atmosphere. It just didn’t really seem to fit into the prompt of our short film. We don’t want the audience to be too distracted by “not getting scared” to the point where they miss the message we are trying to send. Comedy was a little more close than horror, but again, it didn’t seem to match our story. The main purpose of comedic films is to have the audience laughing.   We chose three different genres that we believed our pitch could fit into. The first genre we chose is comedy. Our pitch could fit into the comedy genre because of some events that could occur. For example, while the bully is learning from his mistake someone could make a joke. It could also fit in this genre because of its elements and Mis-En-Scene. Such as, the casual costumes and classroom settings of many comedy films. The second genre we chose for our pitch is horror. This pitch could fit into this genre because of the acts of violence within the scenes. Another reason it could fit is because of some common sounds found in horror. For example, screaming; this could be used in our pitch during a scene where the bully is bullying someone. The last genre we chose for our pitch is drama.
